does capital punishment demonstrate compassion and decency?

of course the death penalty does not demonstate compassion and decency. its killing people because they killed people who may or may not have done something to injury or hurt them. decency is defined as The state or quality of being decent. if killing someone is decent and nice then i dont wanna be decent and nice. that is not a good thing if capital punishment is defined as decent and compassion.

is it wrong to be concerned about executing innocent people?

if you know that you are executing innocent people then you shouldnt be executing them in the first place. if they did not commit a harsh enough crime you should not be killing them for no reason. for example in the movie law abading citizen at about the beginning they kill an innocent man when all he did was break into their house and steal stuff. that is not a big enough crime to be killed for. but the other man raped and killed his wife and then killed his child. even though our justice system is flawed like in the movie i highly doubt that the court system has killed people that have not either killed or committed an insanely bad crime.

are executions sometimes required to uphold the justice system?

i believe that in the justice system sometime the death penalty is needed to uphold the justice system. even though our justice system is flawed in many ways, we have some of the most well known crime capitals of the world. in our justice system some of the most stupid crimes are called for the death penalty. in my opinion the crime should fit the punishment to a certain extent. for example if a person kills someone in self defense they should not die for a person who was committing a crime on them. in the united states more than 13000 people have been executed since the colony days. which in my opinion is not that much compared the how many people we have had in this country.
